The Radon Lounge is a little hole in the ground under Springfield, Illinois. We host unique live music shows, feed and house touring bands, and encourage a creative local community. We like a wide variety of genres, but would probably be best described as indie, inspired by the aesthetic of Daytrotter and NPR’s All Songs Considered.

This article from the Illinois Times hits the nail on the head explaining what we do.

We typically host one show a month in our Springfield hole in the ground, but sometimes other spots as well. We support other live local DIY music in Springfield such as what happens at the Black Sheep Cafe and record store Dumb Records, and a new huge central Illinois music fest AudioFeed. We also host our own summer music fest called the Horse Show.

The Radon Lounge is owned and operated by Jeff and Cat with lots of help from an awesome community of volunteers. We are happy to say we are an all ages venue with no alcohol, but generally maintain audiences across the age spectrum.

Check out all of our past shows!

For booking inquiries, contact us at radonlounge@gmail.com or message us at facebook.com/radonlounge We always have a PA and sound tech on hand and are typically on top of the hospitality game.

Send us a message to find out the address of the next show.

Unfortunately there are some stairs involved with our typical venue, which doesn’t make us very handicap accessible.

    1. Unfortunately not good, there are about 5-6 steps going down to the basement with a smaller than standard doorway, and then you have to go up a staircase to go to the bathroom. Maybe someday we’ll have a real venue with wheelchair accessibility, we’ll keep dreaming for now.
