2014 Horse Show Preview

10 Jun

Today we want to lay out for you what you can expect from the 2014 Horse Show.

So far we’ve been talking about all of the awesome bands performing at this event, but haven’t really elaborated on everything else going on. We basically want this to be a regular annual event, and more than just a stage or two setup with some bands. The stars of the show are the horses and Refuge Ranch. Do however make sure to check out the band lineup, it’s equipped with times and everything on Facebook and on this site.

In addition to two stages and 20+ bands, we also have some some fun games lined up. We’re re-purposing one of our horse arenas into a sand volleyball court. Also Mondo Croquet will be offered for free this year, until we run out of bowling balls. If you haven’t played croquet using bowling balls and sledge hammers… you’re probably in the majority. Also there will be enough green space if you just want to toss a frisbee around, just don’t expect the horses to catch. A playground is available for the kids.

We’re happy to offer two food vendors this year. Ayappa’s will once again be serving up gyros, falafel, burgers, and fries. New this year is Dew’s Chili Truck, who will be serving chili, tamales, Chicago dogs, and more.

Admission is free, but do bring some money if you want to buy food or to make a donation to the ranch. We’ll also have various vendors of all kinds for a little shopping, as well as Refuge Ranch apparel and musician merch for sale.

Of course the music lineup will be stellar this year. Many previous Radon favorites are involved, finishing the evening with The Soil & The Sun bringing us to a new plane of existence.

Hope you can make it out and join us to make this a memorable event for everyone. Help us get the word out so people don’t miss this unique and joyful experience.
