Horse Show 2014!

14 Jan

We’re excited to announce the Horse Show 2014 will be on June 21st!

The Horse Show is the Radon’s FREE big summer fest located at Refuge Ranch. We’re building off last year’s successes and have some exciting new changes for this year.

First, TWO STAGES!!!! We will be hosting the Barn Stage and the Garage Stage this year. The Barn Stage will be setup like last year, except it will primarily feature bands from the folksy side of the music spectrum. The Garage Stage will feature bands from the harder side of rock ‘n roll.

This year we’ll be hosting around 20 bands, mostly gems from right here in Springfield, IL, some midwest Radon favorites, and beyond. We’re still working on the lineup, but it wouldn’t be very festive to announce a festival without some sort of sneak peek, read on!

First off, we’re excited to announce crowd favorite Insomniac Folklore from Portland, OR will be making the trip back this year. They’ll be giving us another heaping helping of their unique tantrum-folk.

Also, making her first appearance at a Radon show is local Springfield singer/songwriter and country charmer Amy Benton.

And our last little teaser for now, Peoria band Must Build Jacuzzi is bringing the ska like it’s 1998. You cannot deny, it never left your heart.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Horse Show without horses, so look forward to getting to know the Refuge Ranch horses, too!

That’s all for now. As always, The Horse Show is free, but do send us a donation using the Paypal links on this webpage. We at the Radon need to raise donations to pay the bands, or pay them out of our own pockets if we must. If you want to sponsor the Horse Show, we would love to talk to you.

Also come check out the Open Mic this Saturday, we’re collecting donations for the Horse Show there too!

As mentioned, we’re still working on the lineup, so stay tuned for more announcements. Also check out our festivals page to find out more about the Horse Show.
